If something doesn't work
I hear nothing
- Check the PC's volume, and the Player's own Volume.
- The Player plays on the speakers or headphones that Windows uses by default. To use others, choose them in Windows' sound settings, then close the Player and start it again.
- If you're playing from a keyboard, check that your keyboard is chosen under MIDI in. If the list shows no keyboard, check its cable and that it's switched on, then open the list again.
- If ComposerFlex is playing, check that its Output is set to PianoFlex (OSC), and read what ComposerFlex's yellow line says. If the Player says another program is using its connection, close that program (often another copy of PianoFlex Player). The Player keeps trying, and connects within a second of the connection coming free.
I hear clicks, crackles or gaps
These happen when the PC can't keep up with the sound. Close other programs that are working hard. If Output is set to Exclusive, try Shared, or the other way round.
Bluetooth headphones and speakers can also add pops of their own, whatever is playing. If you hear them only on Bluetooth, use wired headphones or speakers, or a USB audio device.
Exclusive won't turn on
Another program may be using the device exclusively, or Windows may not allow it. To allow it, open Windows' sound settings, open the properties of your speakers or headphones, choose Advanced, and tick the option that allows programs to take exclusive control.
